# Our Story

 
Over 20 years ago, my grandmother introduced the family to the Algarve.
She had heard of a small, untouched village called Sagres, on the west coast of Europe, and wanted to see it for herself, so she brought the family along.
What they discovered was the warmth of the local Portuguese people and untouched beaches and nature that felt safe, welcoming, and quietly magical.
It stayed with them long after the trip had ended.

 
What if other people could discover Sagres the way our family
had? My dad set out to make that happen, and Mareta View was the first hotel to open its doors, overlooking Mareta beach. As the family's connection to Sagres deepened, so did their ambition Mareta Beach followed, and later Mareta Beach House, each just a short walk from the last, all built around the same ethos that first brought the family here.

 
Across all three hotels, the day-to-day is shaped by a couple from Sagres who have played a major part in our success. For more than 15 years, Flavia and Pedro have been part of our story Flavia as General Manager and Pedro as Operations Manager, their steady presence has helped guide countless guests through their stay. Their contribution is felt throughout the business, in the small details as much as the big ones.
But at its heart, the business remains what it always was: one family's invitation for others to fall in love with Sagres, just as my grandmother, my mum, my dad, and I have done.
